Just another Southwark Primary weblog
We have been learning about different animals and their habitats. We looked at where different animals lived and why they lived in cartain habitats. We chose an animal and have created them using clay as part of our Creative Arts topic.
Here is a slideshow showing our clay creatures.

Welcome back! I hope you had a great holiday.
This term we will be focusing on the Expressive arts and we will be learning about the 4 Seasons. Year 2 will be going on walks and looking at trees and plants and looking at different habitats.
Keep checking our blog site to see what we get up to!
This half term out topic has focused on living a healthy lifestyle and we have looked at this through the question “How can we make SpongeBob healthy?” ![612~SpongeBob-SquarePants-Posters[1] 612~SpongeBob-SquarePants-Posters[1]](http://2sc.southwarkprimary.net/files/2009/12/612SpongeBob-SquarePants-Posters1.jpg)
During the first week we looked at healthy eating and the importance of having a balanced diet.
This is an Eatwell Plate, showing the different food groups and how much of each food group you need to eat.

During the Second week we focused on the importance of keeping physically fit and we explored different ways to exercise and created our own Olympic games.

The focus for the third week was keeping our teeth healthy. The children found out how to keep teeth healthy and explored different types of toothpaste and conducted an experiment to test which tooth paste was the best.
We also created some clay moulds of teeth. Here are some pictures of our moulds.

During the fourth week we focused on keeping our minds healthy. We did this through exploring ways to keep ourselves calm and happy. We also played some brain training games and took part in some relaxing yoga.

Here are a few of our photographs from Eureka.

Last week Year 2 went to Eureka in Halifax. It was a really cold day but we all had such a great time looking around the museum and taking part in a healthy eating workshop. We have taken some photos and will be posting a few on our blog site soon.
